Sort through your belongings today to see what you can donate to your local YMCA charity shop. All donations are sorted before they reach the shop floor, and what we can’t sell is recycled. With your support, we can change the lives of even more young people. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

Donate unwanted items

Please bag up donations of good quality clothing, bags, shoes, scarves, belts, ties, hats, jewellery, books, CDs, DVDs, records, toys, home furnishings, cooking and dining wares and bric-a-brac and drop them off at your nearest YMCA shop.

Book a FREE collection

We can collect furniture and some larger electrical items for free. Please contact your nearest YMCA shop to find out if we are able to accept your donation.

Please note we only accept items in good condition and will only refuse a collection due to legal, safety or quality reasons. All upholstered items must have a fire label attached.

In office collection

If you would like your donations collected from your workplace, we can either place a donation point in your office for regular collection, or we will work with you to arrange a ‘donation day’, encouraging your entire office to bring in their donations on the same day for immediate collection.

If you are interested, please email YMCA England & Wales.

Other ways to donate

Free house clearance

Please call your nearest YMCA shop to find out if they offer this service. We may be able to collect suitable items that have been bagged and boxed up ready for collection on an agreed date.

Clothing banks

We have several clothing banks that you can use 24/7. Please note, we cannot claim Gift Aid on items donated in this way.

If your clothing bank is full, we kindly ask you to email retail.admin@ymca.org.uk or call 0207 186 9585.

Gift Aid

If you pay Uk income or UK capital gains tax, we can claim 25% on every item you donate. Please fill out a Gift Aid form in our shop the first time you donate, so that we are able to claim an extra 25p for every £1 we raise from your donations.

If you have any questions about Gift Aid, you can find out more on GOV.UK website.
