This winter, thousands of young people face homelessness

With rising rents and the spiralling cost of living, too many young people are left with nowhere to go this winter. No one should be out in the cold.

YMCA’s the largest charitable provider of housing for young people in England & Wales, but even our rooms are full. It’s never been this bad.

No matter how motivated they are, no matter how much potential they’ve got, without a stable home young people can’t lead the lives they deserve.

If we want to end youth homelessness, we need more homes.

We’re unlocking 10,000 homes for young people

We plan to create 10,000 new and supported homes for young people. And most importantly, give them a safe place, and the chance to build a future.

Because YMCA’s embedded in 708 communities across England and Wales, we know where new homes are most needed, and we know where cost-effective opportunities are.

We’re seeing the potential in old buildings, and repurposing places like disused care homes into cost-effective accommodation, as well as scoping out new developments. We have a plan and we’re taking action.

Will my contribution have an impact?

Yes. We’ve been there for young people for more than 180 years, and already provide 10,432 safe homes for young people in England and Wales. We know exactly what’s needed to realise an ambition of this size. Your gift today, big or small, really could help us get things started.

The net income from this appeal will support our Housing Vision and our goal of creating 10,000 homes for young people.
