YMCA Response to the Government’s announcement on the Youth Guarantee

“We welcome the Government’s announcement of £820 million investment to create new learning and employment opportunities for young people. YMCAs see firsthand how unsteady the journey into work or training can be, particularly when young people are facing mental health challenges, insecure housing, or have already disengaged from education. This package has the potential to make a meaningful difference to thousands of young people who need it most.”

“The commitment to expanding Youth Hubs, strengthening support in Jobcentres and providing guaranteed jobs in areas of highest need is especially important. These approaches recognise that young people require accessible, tailored support that meets them where they are, something YMCA delivers every day through our housing, training, youth work and mental health programmes.”
