One night can make a lifetime of difference

Since its beginnings in 2010, YMCA Sleep Easy has seen more than 8,000 people sleep out in order to raise over £1.7 million for local YMCA services that assist young people in rebuilding their lives.

Many of this year’s Sleep Easy events have now taken place — thank you to everyone who gave up their bed for the night and made a difference.

With your help, we can raise vital funds to address the root causes of homelessness.

Housing

YMCA is the largest voluntary sector provider of safe, supported housing for young people in England and Wales.

YMCA is more than somewhere to live. Our approach is always to support the whole person. We provide safe, affordable places to live that feel like home and focus on community spirit and togetherness. We provide 10,432 beds across distinct types of housing to cater for the different levels of support our 20,671 residents need. This ranges from 319 emergency beds serving 3,591 individuals annually, and 7,211 hostel beds for young people and vulnerable adults.

Right now, YMCA is on a mission to make sure no young person is left without a home, or a future. #BuildingFutures is a movement to help end the youth housing crisis by creating 10,000 new homes for young people.

As the largest charitable provider of supported housing in England and Wales, YMCA is uniquely placed to meet this challenge. Cemented in local communities, with over 10,000 homes already under our belt, we see the impact the housing crisis has on young lives – and we have the experience and ambition to change it.
