Kindly package your contributions of pre-loved clothing, handbags, footwear, scarves, belts, ties, headwear, accessories, literature, music, films, vinyl records, playthings, household decor, kitchenware, dining essentials, and miscellaneous items, then deliver them to the nearest YMCA charity shop.
Our friendly team will be more than ready to assist you.
We can collect furniture and some more oversized electrical items for free. Please contact your nearest YMCA shop to find out if we can accept your donation.
Please note that we only accept items in good condition and will only refuse a collection for legal, safety, or quality reasons. All upholstered items must have a fire label attached.
If you would like to donate to YMCA England & Wales through your workplace, we can help make the process easier. We can either place a donation point in your office for regular collection or we can work with you to set up a ‘donation day’.
This would encourage your entire office to bring in their donations on the same day for immediate collection. If you are interested, please send an email to the YMCA England & Wales retail team.
If you’re looking to clear out your house and have some items that are still in good condition, you might be interested to know that some YMCA shops offer a free house clearance service.
To find out if this is available at a shop near you, you can reach out to them directly. Once you have confirmed that the service is available, you can start preparing your items for collection.
This involves carefully sorting through your belongings and packaging them up securely in bags and boxes. Once everything is ready, you can arrange a convenient date and time for our team to come and collect your items. This is a great option if you’re looking to declutter your home while also supporting a good cause.
We are pleased to have several clothing banks available for your convenience. These banks can be accessed at any time of the day or night. They are located throughout the area, so you can easily find one that is close to you. It’s important to note that while we welcome clothing donations through these banks, we are unable to claim Gift Aid on any items donated through this method.
We understand that the clothing banks can sometimes become full, especially during peak donation periods. If you encounter a full clothing bank in your area, we kindly ask that you reach out to us via email at customer.service@ymca.org.uk or phone at 0207 186 9585. Our team will be happy to assist you with locating an alternative location for your donation.
We are part of the HMRC Gift Aid scheme, this means that if you are a UK Taxpayer, paying income or capital gains tax, we can claim an extra 25% on your donations.
When you first donate to our stores, please speak to a member of staff and ask sign-up to Gift Aid. This can also be arranged if you are having a home collection.
Gift Aid helps us to maximise your donations, by being able to claim an extra 25p to every £1.
