By joining Team YMCA, you will help us continue our life-changing work supporting young people and local communities across England and Wales.
Whether this is through a charity place directly from YMCA or a ballot place where you can still support our work.
Our application will remain open until all our places are filled. We will also hold a reserves list so still please get in touch.
Successful applicants will receive an email offering them a place with Team YMCA. You will have 14 days from receiving this email to pay your deposit and confirm your place.
After you’ve paid your £100 deposit, the minimum fundraising ask is £1900. Don’t forget you aren’t alone in your fundraising, we’re here to support you along the way with support and advice.
If you’re struggling and want to speak with a member of our team, get in touch at marathon@ymca.org.uk
You can still join Team YMCA if you have secured your place through the race organisers, therefore you don’t have a fundraising target and we just ask that you raise as much as you can.
If you want a place with us directly we ask that you raise the minimum fundraising amount as it covers the cost of your place as well as raising vital funds to support young people.
We understand this can be tricky but we’re here to support you in anyway. We’re also happy to accept personal donations, should you wish to pay the sponsorship yourself – but this is not, in any way, mandatory.
You will receive your fundraising guide after you’ve paid your deposit, and your place is confirmed with Team YMCA.
We will send you your Team YMCA running vest in enough time to make sure it’s the right fit for you.
You will receive your registration email from London Marathon a week or so before event day. This will include your unique collection QR code that you’ll need to collect your event pack from the TCS London Marathon Running Show at ExCeL London.
Your registration email will also tell you all your important arrival information for marathon day, including your start wave and time.
The race usually starts between 9.30am and 11am. Runners will receive confirmation of their wave start time by email from London Marathon Events.
You can see the full route on the TCS London Marathon website. The route begins at Greenwich Park and ends on The Mall next to St James’ Park.
