Ways to donate to our shops

Free Furniture Collection

We can collect furniture and some larger electrical items for free. Please get in touch with your nearest YMCA shop to find out if we can accept your donation.

Please note that we only accept items in good condition and will only refuse a collection for legal, safety, or quality reasons. All upholstered items must have a fire label attached.

Office Collection

If your workplace is interested in supporting our cause through donations, two convenient options are available for collection. The first option is to set up a donation point in your office for regular collection. Employees can deposit their donations at the designated donation point at their convenience. The second option is to coordinate a ‘donation day’ where the entire office can participate by bringing in their donations on the same day for immediate collection.

We understand the importance of making the donation process as seamless as possible for your workplace. If you are interested in either of these options, please don’t hesitate to email us at YMCA England & Wales. We are more than happy to work with you to make the donation process a smooth and rewarding experience for your workplace.

Gift Aid

We are part of the HMRC Gift Aid scheme, this means that if you are a UK Taxpayer, paying income or capital gains tax, we can claim an extra 25% on your donations.

When you first donate to our stores, please speak to a member of staff and ask sign-up to Gift Aid. This can also be arranged if you are having a home collection.

Gift Aid helps us to maximise your donations, by being able to claim an extra 25p to every £1.
